So will he be able to transition in BS or must he wait an additional year until he's 10? And if he must wait an additional year, what does he work toward after completing the AOL requirement? I was wondering about the camping requirements for weblos, I am wondering about the boys that don't go on our pack camping can they use any family camp or mom and me or dad in lad instead what are the rules for requirements?
Rose - That's true, that various Webelos recognitions for completing all 20 activity badges were created by councils, but you can purchase a "Webelos Super Achiever" patch from the official national BSA store at Scoutstuff. Kevin - The only guidance I can find in the Webelos Den Leader Guide is: "There is no required order in which adventures must be earned.
Since all our Webelos will be going into their second year and working towards earning their AOL, we will continue to use the old program. The new Webelos rank requires you to complete two electives, and the Arrow of Light rank requires you to complete three electives. Mandy - They are two separate requirements, and it would be a total of five electives. So do most Webelos do the elective achievements on their own, or does the den decide as a group which electives to do together?
No, our council is not having the old activity pins available all year. Daniel Kim - Both! Do you still have to earn the weblows before you can earn your arrow of light. Cubbie So this has been a center of a lot of confusion and cause a lot of leaders to be upset.
Chuck - There are tight guidelines for Cub Scout camping at the den and pack levels. Does anyone have an online version or pdf file of the Webelos Den Leader Guide - with the new Adventures? Hi: My son entered his Webelos den in Dec , when he turned 10, and has attended that den for the majority of this past year they did not meet a lot during the summer months. Hi Scouter Paul- Now that we are assembling the boys for AOL, many went to summer daycamp and "re-completed" electives they did originally as Webelos or in one case, a scout does not have 3 remaining electives left as he did a bunch on his own prior to the Webelos requirements being completed with the larger group.
Rachael - The Webelos den leader is supposed to be signing off any advancement completions, not the scout nor the parent. Thanks for the quick reply. Our Webelos leader told my scout on the first day of Webelos that he was in the wrong uniform.
Can the core requirements count also as electives? I am trying to complete the Building a Better World requirement with my boys. Maureen - On page 5 of the Webelos Handbook, it states "Boys who have completed the third grade work on the Webelos rank.

There will not be a den or leader once the AOL den crosses over. I am the Cub Master, so I'll do what I can for him.
He's been involved for years and in so close, I don't want to see him miss out. I'd rather he earn it late versus miss it due to a arbitrary crossover date. Generally speaking, Cub Scouts in non-LDS packs have until the end of the school year to earn their rank.
Section 4. If they have not earned AOL rank yet, they can stay in the pack and keep working towards it until the end of the school year, if this is what they choose. As Clark says, it is important that the Scout does not register with a troop, because once he joins a troop, he cannot go back and work on Cub Scout ranks and awards. As for the den, does your pack have a Webelos Den for 4th graders? If so, I would put him with them to finish up. Mar 26, - Rick Carrillo Hello, Does anyone know how to meet requirements for scouts who cannot attend camping overnighters? I have a couple of scouts in my pack that, due to circumstances are not able to do campouts. If I'm not mistaken, some requirements say "camping" whereas, other say "or an activity".
One has medical issues that won't allow that. What and how can I modify requirements so they get rank? Any help appreciated. Mar 26, - Scouter Paul Rick - You don't modify a requirement. You have the scout complete the other requirement that does not demand camping. A cub scout can earn all ranks without any overnight camping.
The requirements for option A deal with a campout. The requirements for option B deal with an outdoor activity. Either option is acceptable. As Scouter Paul said, a campout is not required. He is in 5th grade and joined Webeblos 1. He is friendly with the boys in this den and wants to continue scouting with them and also complete Webeblos 2 with THIS den. When can the boys start working on the Arrow of Light requirements? Robert - There is nothing in the transition material, the new Webelos handbook, or the new leader guide, which prevents a Webelos scout from earning any of the pins at any time.
I am a weblos leader in an LDS pack and my son is one of my kids. Brian L The time cannot overlap and you are correct in saying that the minimum time that they can earn both the Webelos Rank and AOL is 9 months 3 months for Webelos and 6 months for Arrow of Light. Brian - Scouter Joe's explanation of the 3 months and 6 months being consecutive is not how many other Packs have interpreted the requirement.
